GET AGRI-CULTURED!

Aggie Days offers a fun, hands on, multi-sensory opportunity to learn more about life on the farm. It's a dynamic and enlightening voyage exploring the journey of food, as well as the ingenuity of agricultural enterprises. We've brought the farm to the city - Aggie Days style!

Seed Survivor

presented by Agrium

Plant yourself in this interactive exhibit and discover the elements you'll need to outwit, outlast and outgrow. Tread carefully - the ground is alive with activity!

Cow Milking

Milk is more than white liquid that you pour from a jug or carton in the fridge. Ice cream is made from milk, ditto for that cheese on your pizza. But where does it come from? Come and see first-hand how a cow is actually milked.

Sheep Shearing

Do you ever wonder where the wool in your sweater or toque come from? Wonder no longer. We'll show you how a sheep barber provides the raw wool that is used to make the clothes that keep us warm.

Dogs vs Ducks

This stock dog presentation features "duck herding" - you'll be amazed at the herding instinct this Border Collie demonstrates and the amazing bond between dog and handler.

Portable Biodiesel Plant

Explore this fascinating classroom on wheels providing hands-on learning of biodiesel production.  This expedition from canola seed curshing to biodiesel fuel, is amazing.  You will also learn about the benefits of biodiesel and resulting by-products, through this interactive display.

Evergreen Theatre - Food for Thought

Join the fun with homegrown characters, Will Wheaton and Betty Bovine as they take you on a journey exploring the relationship of farm, food and fitness.  This original musical theatre show asks and answers the questions: where does food come from and what is the importance of food nutrition and fitness.  The science of nutrition has never been so much fun!

Fuel for Gold Program

Come and meet the Olympians from across the country who are training here in Calgary.  These top athletes are participating in this subsidized meal program that brings them healthy, flavourful, locally produced foods through a protein-rich and nutritious menu that helps them excel in their chosen sport.  These athletes will enlighten you on the connection between agriclture, food and performance through an entertaining and engaging presentation.  Alberta Egg Producers, Alberta Beef Producers, Alberta Turkey Producers and Alberta Pork are proud to be involved in the Fuel For Gold program.

Alberta Cafe and the Producers Market

The Alberta Cafe will again be featured during Aggie Days on April 12 & 13 in Hall C of the Roundup Centre.  This presentation of locally produced and prepared foods will provide an even greater selection of breakfast, lunch and dinner offerings this year.  Don't miss this opportunity to enjoy delicious Alberta-produced 'family friendly' delicacies.

Also featured during Family Fun Days, in conjunction with the Alberta Cafe, will be a mini-market that will provide these local food producers the opportunity to showcase their industry and products.  Visitors can take home some exceptional farm fresh food products.
